Intimate Destination Wedding in Costa Blanca

Dic 30, 2021

This intimate destination wedding at Algorfa Chapel proves you don’t need hundreds of guests to live an unforgettable day. A young British couple decided to break the rules. They flew from the UK to Spain to say “I do” in total privacy. Just five guests, a black limousine, and a cinematic setting: the Chapel of Our Lady of Carmen on the hilltop of Algorfa.

Break the Rules – The Video

Young, stylish, and madly in love. Sarah, a stunning platinum-blonde bride, wore a bold black gown, loose hair, and a red bouquet that looked like fire in her hands. James was the calm to her storm: elegant and serene in a white dinner jacket and bow tie.

Together they looked straight out of a fashion editorial. Their chemistry is what turned this intimate destination wedding into something powerful, even with only five people present.

As a teaser, here’s the reel for this different kind of wedding, aptly titled Break the Rules:

Intimate destination wedding at Algorfa Chapel: how it all began

Built in 1901 with stone from the town’s own quarry, this neo‑Gothic chapel stands out for its rose window and the cross crowning the façade. From the hill you breathe silence, broken that day only by the musicians and the priest’s voice. A mystical place with history, a chapel that feels like a storybook scene—and two very unique newlyweds ready to celebrate their small wedding. Stay to see the rest.

When the bride wore black

Yes—black. Long, elegant, with a veil and a vivid red bouquet. Loose hair, long nails, and a fierce gaze. As she rolled down the limousine window, it felt like a music video moment.
Inside the chapel James was waiting, calm and steady, ready to live the moment of his life.

(True story: as she stepped out of the car, a group of little kids on a school trip passed by. “Look, a witch!” one shouted. The teacher smiled: “No, that’s a bride—she’s wearing black.”)

A minimal ceremony at this intimate destination wedding

No pews were filled. Only the couple, the priest, two musicians—and the person who never appears in the photos, the wedding photographer. The mass was short, but the vows and ring exchange had the strength of a grand celebration. She teared up when she saw the ring on her hand.

The wide shot of the interior says it all: the newlyweds, another couple with their baby, the musicians, and the priest. Nothing else.

Couple session in Cabo Roig

After leaving the chapel—no petals, no confetti—they jumped into the limousine and headed to Cabo Roig, where they were staying. On the terrace we created a short couple session filled with glances, complicity, and soft Mediterranean light. A perfect ending for a different kind of day.
