There are weddings that feel like a warm Spanish summer hug – and this one had it all: sun, laughter, music, champagne and a long aisle under the heat of August. Aofi & TJ chose Spain for their destination wedding at La Finca Resort Algorfa, and it turned into the perfect mix of Irish charm and Mediterranean energy.

Preparations at La Finca Resort Algorfa
The day started at La Finca Resort, with the pool shimmering under a scorching sun (welcome to Spain in August). Upstairs, the girls were getting ready: champagne glasses in hand, laughter bouncing off the walls, and the bridesmaids in their elegant marron glacé dresses.
Aofi looked stunning in her gown – delicate embroidery, a veil with hints of salmon beneath the lace layers, and that bouquet of fresh whites and eucalyptus. The bridesmaids held similar arrangements, perfect for a summer wedding vibe.
Meanwhile, in another room, TJ received a surprise: cufflinks shaped like the couple’s pets, along with a handwritten note from Aofi. Let’s just say his reaction was pure joy. He and his groomsmen, all sharp in suspenders and bow ties, helped him into a white jacket with black lapels – a look that made him stand out instantly.
The last touch before the ceremony was emotional: Aofi’s father walking into the room for a first look with his daughter. Tears, pride, and the promise of walking her down the longest aisle of her life.

Ceremony at La Finca Resort Algorfa
The aisle at La Finca Resort felt endless, lined with fans on each chair (because yes, it was that hot). Guests settled in, fanning themselves, while the best men made their entrance. TJ walked proudly with his mother, waiting at the altar with a mixture of nerves and excitement.
Then came the moment: Aofi appeared at the far end of the aisle, holding onto her father’s arm. She locked eyes with guests, then with TJ, and suddenly the heat didn’t matter anymore.
Linda Gibson, a well-known celebrant in Spain, led the ceremony with warmth and simplicity – just the right touch for a destination wedding. Vows were exchanged, rings placed, and finally the kiss that sealed it all.
The exit was spectacular: the couple walked back down the aisle as guests cheered, followed by a massive group photo with every single guest – taken from a terrace above, so nobody was left out.

Couple Session
Now, let’s be honest: not every couple loves the camera. Aofi is shy, and I know my job isn’t to turn people into models. Instead, I gave them five quiet minutes alone – just enough to breathe, laugh together, and capture natural images while the guests moved towards the cocktail reception.

Cocktail & Dinner
At the entrance of Salon Augusta, after crossing the golf course, the couple was greeted with the music of Manu Sax – live saxophone over dance beats. A perfect start to the evening. Guests mingled with drinks in hand, tasting fresh canapés (yes, even in the middle of Spain’s heatwave, this felt like an oasis).
Inside, Mike Bow Violin played during the dinner. Speeches filled the room with laughter and anecdotes, reactions caught at every table. The atmosphere was light, emotional, and fun – exactly what a wedding in Spain should be.
After the meal, the couple cut their cake and then a live rock band took over. First dance, more drinks, and suddenly the dance floor was full. Guests spread across the indoor Augusta hall, the bar, and the terrace lit up with string lights under the warm Spanish night.
It was a celebration that didn’t just mark a wedding – it was a memory of Spain at its best.

A wedding to remember
Aofi & TJ’s destination wedding at La Finca Resort Algorfa was the perfect mix of Irish charm and Spanish energy. From emotional first looks to a night of rock music and open-air dancing, this was a day that proved why so many couples choose Spain for their big day: here, weddings don’t just happen, they come alive.
